Dayle Gaetz grew up in Victoria, spent 22 years on Salt Spring Island, and now lives in Campbell River where she continues to write. She has 21 published books for young people, with several more at various stages of completion. Meeting young readers at schools and libraries is an important part of being an author for Dayle. She discusses how a book can grow from a small beginning idea into a story filled with interesting characters and exciting adventure.
Dayle writes nonfiction as well as fiction and spent several years as a freelance journalist/columnist for a weekly newspaper on Salt Spring Island.
