Gordon Turner has published two books: No Country for White Men and The Book of Devin. His poetry can best be described as "mountain-country" writing. It deals with people, situations, and emotions experienced in the interior of British Columbia in what many people might describe as back-country. He uses images of the land that parallel human behavior.
Currently, Gordon Turner writes a column on happenings and books for The Castlegar Citizen newspaper and teaches a poetry creative writing class at Selkirk College.
