Incident at Willow Creek

Don Hunter immigrated to Canada from the UK in 1961 as a teacher. He earned a B.Ed. from the University of British Columbia. In 1969, he joined The Province daily newspaper in Vancouver where he was variously, a theatre critic, reporter, editor, feature-writer and, for the six years up to his leaving in 1996 to pursue novel and screenplay writing, he was the author of the up-front opinion and general-interest column, Out and About. While a career journalist, he was a regular freelance contributor to the then Star Weekly and many other magazines and newspapers in North America and abroad. A personal memoir of teaching in northern BC led to the CBC Television movie and subsequent six one-hour miniseries drama 9B in 1989. He wrote much of the miniseries. He has also conducted numerous readings and workshops. Hunter has been married since 1960 to the lady who accompanied him to Canada. Hunter currently lives in Fort Langley, BC with his wife, June.
