Lois Peterson's adult short stories, essays, and articles were published internationally for 20 years before she turned to writing for children in 2007. Meeting Miss 405 was published by Orca Book Publishers in 2008 and has been nominated for the 2009/2010 BC Chocolate Lily Children's Choice Award and the OLA Forest of Reading Silver Birch Express Award.
The Ballad of Knuckles McGraw and Else and the Silver Rain will be published by Orca in 2010.
Lois is also the author of 101 - and More - Writing Exercises to Get You Started & Keep You Going, used by writing groups and creative writing instructors and is on the reading list of at least one university college. She is a popular writing instructor, presenter, and storyteller, and operates the Surrey Writers' School.
