Save Mom Time Prepping For Birthdays

It’s February, and a few months from now will be my youngest daughter’s birthday again. Preparing and organizing a birthday party is not easy and can really be stressful, especially if you’re pressed for time. So to help me prep for this year’s birthday events, I have compiled a list of strategies that made my last year’s events not only successful but less stressful and more enjoyable as well.

Start early

I normally start planning and brainstorming at least two months before the event. The more time I have scouting for entertainers, caterers, party places, birthday party supplies, etc., the better.

Save mom time by getting input from the celebrant

Always check with the celebrant on how they want to celebrate their birthday (place, time, food, cake, theme, favors, etc.) to avoid wasting effort and mom time. Make sure that you and the celebrant are on the same page before even starting to execute your plan.

Decide on when and where to hold the party

Making early reservations is critical if you’re serious about getting the place on the exact date and time that you want. Sending invitations early gives your guests time to plan for the event as well.

Use online invitations

Online invitations manage the rsvps for me and automatically send reminders to my guests, which is not only cool, but saves a lot of my mom time. Plus, you can always go back and edit the invite and would automatically notify your guests of the changes.

Get down to the nitty-gritty

Now that you’ve covered the basics, it’s time to get down and get dirty! Finalize what kind of food you’re serving and make arrangements / reservations with the caterer. Order the cake.

Start shopping for decors, favors, game prizes based on your theme. I tell you, this is one aspect of party planning that could take up much of your time if not done well, which is why I love Birthday Express!

Everything I need in terms of birthday party supplies is on their site. No time and money wasted driving to different places searching for different birthday party supplies. They have a wide selection of themes – from cartoon characters, princesses, superheroes, to popular movie themes like Camp Rock, High School Musical, etc. My guests adored the filled favor boxes I bought from Birthday Express last year which is why I’m doing it again this year. My kids loved the personalized banner I ordered. It made their birthday extra special! Another thing I liked about Birthday Express is that I’m able to get answers to my questions rightaway through their online chat feature. They also have an on-time guaranteed delivery promise which puts my mind at ease knowing that I will receive my birthday party supplies on time.

Sit back and relax

Now that you’re done prepping for your birthday party, you need to rest and relax. The less stressed you are, the happier you’ll be and the more you can enjoy the party that you’ve worked so hard for. More importantly, your birthday celebrant and your whole family and friends can enjoy — you!
