Preventing Wrinkles

Almost everybody would say one thing when asked how you can prevent yourself from getting wrinkles. Shield your skin from the sun! According to experts, antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E as well as minerals zinc and selenium reduces the amount of damaging free radicals produced by skin cells thereby keeping wrinkles at bay. Those would include spinach, carrots, squash, tomatoes, bell peppers, oranges, grapefruits, whole-grain cereals, eggs, milk, papayas, and mangoes. Cartenoid-rich foods like cantaloupe, apricots, carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, and other fruits and vegetables offer similar UV protection and may contribute to healthy skin coloring.

To achieve a healthy, youthful glow, eat at least four servings of fruits and five of vegetables each day.

Drinking enough water moisturizes the skin from the inside out, maintaining elasticity, and suppleness, less drying, less damage. Caffeinated drinks have diuretic effect that depletes the body’s water supply. Exercise also affects the body’s water level, so compensate for these factors by drinking extra water.

Bottom-line is, you’ll get what you put in. If you’re seeking to prevent wrinkles and promote a more youthful appearance, eating a diverse diet that include vegetables, essential oils, cartenoids, and antioxidants, can bring out a healthier, and younger-looking you.
